40K for Rainbow Baby Day

Pregnancy and parenting after loss are both incredibly tender and emotionally complex experiences, filled with both hope and heartache.
At The Worst Girl Gang Ever Foundation, we know how isolating it can feel – the anxiety, the guilt, the fear of hope. And we also know that community, compassion and the right support can make all the difference.
This August, we’re asking you to help us build that support by taking on the 40k Challenge in honour of Rainbow Baby Day on 22nd August.
🌈 The Challenge: 40k in August
Whether you walk, run, swim, wheel, dance or crawl your way through it – this challenge is about moving your body, honouring your journey, and raising vital funds for families navigating pregnancy or parenting after a previous loss.

💛 Why We Need You
We’re raising funds to create and expand support for those pregnant or parenting after loss — because:
– The fear of loss can overshadow every scan, every kick, every milestone
– Many parents feel alone, unheard, or disconnected during subsequent pregnancies and this can follow through into the early days of parenting
– There’s a lack of tailored support for navigating these emotional rollercoasters
With your help, we’ll develop targeted resources, safe spaces, and specialist emotional support for families in this incredibly vulnerable time.

A great cause
Fundraising for The Worst Girl Gang Ever Foundation helps provide vital support and bring light to those facing the darkness of miscarriage, baby loss, and infertility.

We asked the fundraisers from the last community event to share their experiences...
“It gave me the opportunity to meet so many inspirational warriors who understood how I was feeling having lost our baby girl a month previously. It also helped me fall in love with running again, which led to so many other running achievements this year (and more money raised) which I’d never have done without it. Couldn’t recommend enough, the community leaves you feeling pretty damn good 💛” – Michaela, March 2025
“After recurrent miscarriages it felt empowering to celebrate what my body can do. I felt so moved being connected to so many warriors around the world who understood my fight and everything I’ve been through” – Ayeisha, March 2025
“It gave me such purpose – not only the motivation and self-belief to run (which I’d never done before) and to believe in my body and myself, but also the incredible community within the group which was an absolute beacon of hope and strength. It was such a privilege to be part of this amazing warrior community and I will always be grateful for it. We can do hard things! 💛” – Tash, March 2025
“After our recurrent miscarriages, running alongside my fellow warriors was so so inspiring! 💜 For the first time in a long time, I didn’t feel alone. I felt understood and that I was part of something special! ✨️ it is the most understanding and supportive group! 🙏🏼” – Chlo, March 2025
“It was the perfect challenge – something to motivate me to run, have a goal, and raise money and awareness for such an important cause that’s just not talked about. It’s been amazing to have the support of so many incredible women who I’m so grateful to have met ❤️” – Sarah, March 2025
“For me, the challenge helped support my physical and mental health in ways I hadn’t anticipated. Firstly, it proved I could do hard things and gave me a sense of achievement and confidence that my body doesn’t completely suck. Also, the love and encouragement of people who cared enough to sponsor me was overwhelming, in a positive way of course, and it opened up so many conversations with people who had felt so alone, not knowing about the group. Finally, I signed up to the WhatsApp group and my God, what a gorgeous bunch of warriors I have come to know. Their unwavering support and care has continued way beyond the challenge. We share highs and lows and quite a few laughs along the way. Being able to reach out to people who ‘get it’ and have a wave of love come crashing back is the big virtual hug you need on those dark days.” – Michelle, March 2025
“The benefits to my physical and mental health from being part of this event have been fantastic and I would encourage anyone to come on board! 🥰” – Rosie, March 2025
“After loss I was in a dark place & in need of support. After some conflicting thoughts, I decided it was exactly what I needed. For the first time in a long time, my feelings felt validated, I didn’t feel alone & I felt empowered to be helping others! This fundraiser helped me to talk about and share my story as well as being supported by others in the community. The group were so motivating & accepting, I miss it! 🧡💛” – Cristina, March 2025
“I was in two minds whether to join as, at the time, I was at a low point in processing my emotions following recurrent miscarriage. However, I had a word with myself and decided to sign up, and I’m so glad I did! It was quite possibly the best thing I could have done when I was navigating this tricky path, and I found there to be so much support and validation of my feelings from a group of incredible women. It was an incredibly cathartic and uplifting experience, which was just what I needed. Thank you :)” – Rebecca, March 2025
“Joining gave me a reason to step outside my front door. Losing our little boy in November was a heartbreak I never thought I would experience, and at my lowest I was too scared to step outside my front door. Joining the gang and finding a community of amazing women helped to start heal my shattered heart and raising money for them, in memory of all our babies was the least I could do. You held me as I fell apart; and this challenge helped me to start putting myself back together again. Thank you for everything you do; the strength I feel today wouldn’t be here without you.” – Caroline, March 2025
“It gave me a purpose at a time when I was lost and didn’t feel I was capable of achieving goals. The group of warriors opened a door to a support network I didn’t know I needed. Gave me the realisation that I needed to process my grief instead of blocking it out by being busy. The fundraising alongside my contribution to the group chat gave me an opportunity to support others and give back in a way that I knew would be truly valued to others in the group & those who would get access to the support & materials in the future.” – Edwina, March 2025
“At first this challenge was to try rebuild a relationship with my body after losing trust in it, but it became so much more. Despite being on the other side of the world I found myself supported and inspired by a strong group of warriors who understand it all. Training became a purposeful space to grieve and connect with my daughter, and the run itself was surprisingly emotional, powerful and reminded me of the strength we have to keep moving forward despite the heartbreak and pain.” – Lish, March 2025
“It made my body feel powerful again, after two losses. My health has significantly increased, and I’m regularly running again – which brings me joy!” – Melanie, March 2025
“Taking part in this heartfelt event allowed me to open up on my struggles with loved ones and friends and I couldn’t be more thankful for TWGGE ! I suddenly felt a sense of validation, fundraising more money than expected for a brilliant charity, absolute heroes! Running alongside these amazing warriors couldn’t be any more recommended ! Lace up those shoes, because you just never know where this run may take you! 💪🏼” – Millie, March 2025
“It gave me a focus I so desperately needed and a way of beginning to heal, a reason to go outside each day, and the support of an incredible group of women pulling together to achieve something amazing. My husband ran every step of the way alongside me, and whenever I wanted to stop, I thought “this is for all of our babies”. The support, care, and love shared in the group has seen me through some of my worst days, for that I will always be so grateful.” – Abbie, March 2025
“Meeting other women who had gone through the worst but kept putting one foot in front of another so that others wouldn’t be alone was such a beautiful thing to be part of. The motivation and encouragement from all involved was beautiful and I’m so grateful to have been part of something so special 💕” – Emma, March 2025
“Running to raise funds for TWGGE was the perfect opportunity to (gently/ not so gently) push me out of my comfort zone and share our story with a wider circle which felt surprisingly good. It gave me the opportunity to talk about TWGGE to loads of people which I am sure will help at least one more family going through this shitty thing. It felt like lifting a load from something that had been sitting on me and I had previously only shared with a small inner circle. So proud of each and every one of us for battling weather, motivation and tiredness to go out on our runs all over the country and even world!” – Becca, March 2025
“Fundraising helped me share my story and showed me how many people care for me in a time I really needed to feel that.” – Victoria, March 2025
“Fundraising for the TWGGE was a real joy and privilege! I discovered their podcast after my second miscarriage and always wanted to give something back. The challenge gave me a reason to open up to my wider network of friends and work colleagues. I was surprised by their heartwarming response which sparked many meaningful conversations! The TWGGE community is incredibly supportive and I feel proud to be a part of it!” – Ksenia, March 2025
